"They made us feel welcome and I really appreciated them."
"Toni, Tyrone and Clinton on the dining room made the food experience AMAZING! Thank you for having them to spoil us with the finest of delicacies! The fact that they came out to say hi was an unexpected bonus to thank them in person for their efforts during this pandemic. We really look forward to the conference in a large part because of the food! Kudos to them and Kamika and Sam in the dining room. They made us feel welcome and I really appreciated them."

"We have worked with a lot of conference venues, but your assistance topped other experiences."
I just want you to know how incredibly helpful you were assisting us with planning for and the implementation of our 2021 Congregational Leadership Initiative CLI in October! We have worked with a lot of conference venues, but your assistance topped other experiences. Your attention to every small detail was so consistent – and we asked for many different rooms and set ups – and you implemented them all. And, I might add, every staff member that we came in contact was friendly and so competent.
So from ECF – a big THANK YOU to everyone.

"we all felt a sense of safety, comfort and belonging knowing that we were back at the Maritime Conference Center."
Dear John,
I can only imagine what a difficult time it has been for the Maritime Conference Center and its staff, having to navigate through a global pandemic while keeping your facility operational and adhering to very strict safety protocols.
On behalf of the entire Executive Council members and staff, I would like to extend my sincere thanks and congratulations to you and your team for hosting our meeting last week. Not only were we able to gather together in person for the first time in over 18 months, we all felt a sense of safety, comfort and belonging knowing that we were back at the Maritime Conference Center.
You and your team, especially Stacey Hahn, our Audio-visual technician, Rick, and the team in the kitchen and dining areas worked tirelessly with my staff to implement many new protocols including changing room set ups to accommodate physical distancing, and moving the Crab Feast indoors, which turned out to be a huge success!
For our first face-to-face meeting since March last year, it seemed appropriate for us to hold it at the Maritime Conference Center, a venue which has always welcomed The Episcopal Church with warmth and hospitality.
With sincere thanks,

"you will find the conference amenities to be superb"
“I use this facility all the time for conferences which my organization hosts. The people who work there are very nice and bend over backwards to be helpful. The shuttle service is very helpful to the airport or the train station, both are very nearby.
The food is phenomenal. They have a fantastic salad bar, several hot entree choices, as well as a separate line where they make sandwiches, burgers, etc. All topped off with an amazing dessert bar. The sleeping rooms are nice and they have an exercise room and a big indoor pool. If you are attending a conference here you will find the conference amenities to be superb. Cannot recommend highly enough!"

"MOVING FORWARD WITH PLANS TO HOLD THE CONFERENCE IN-PERSON AT MCC IN 2021"
“Our 200 plus in-person annual conference has been held at the Maritime Conference Center each year since 2010. COVID-19 made it impossible to have that event in 2020. With full confidence that MCC knows how to meet our conference needs while addressing any state/county regulations and CDC safety standards, we are moving forward with plans to hold the conference in-person at MCC in 2021. They have been fully flexible and customer-centric in working with us as we navigate this new normal in conference planning and delivery."

"IT WAS A SMOOTH AND EASY PROCESS"
"Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and everything shuttled down, we had selected the Maritime Conference Center (MCC) for one of our symposiums. I had met a member of their team at Connect Marketplace and was curious to see the venue. We were able to take a tour of their facility, all of our questions were answered and the MCC team was super accommodating to all of our requests; it was super easy to work with Denise in booking our event.
When we found out that we had to cancel our meeting due to the pandemic, we had no issues. It was a smooth and easy process, and we received our deposit back right away; Denise was so understanding. In the future, when we are able to host in-person meetings again, we definitely will be back to book our meeting with the Maritime Conference Center again.

"THE CONFERENCE RAN EVEN MORE SMOOTHLY THAN PAST PRE-COVID CONFERENCES"
All, I just wanted to say how well MCC performed for this very first large scale conference during the height of COVID. We got lots of very positive feedback about the food, the constant replenishment of coffee, snacks in the break area, the friendliness of staff and the general overall feeling of being taken care of by the MCC. The conference ran even more smoothly than past pre-covid conferences. I believe that Crystal's herculean focus on pre-set up details and our needs was a decisive factor in our very positive experience. So thank you all for your efforts, flexibility and attention to our needs. It was great.

"LOOK FORWARD TO HOSTING OUR FIRST FACE TO FACE MEETING SINCE THE "LOCK-DOWN" AT MCC THIS FALL"
"SENSIBLE PROTOCOLS TO PROVIDE FOR SAFE GATHERING ENVIRONMENTS"
"We have been so appreciative of MCC's overall approach in addressing the two event cancellations our organization had due to the pandemic. MCC could have held us to contract obligations no one anticipated arising from a global crisis, but instead compromised with us in finding solutions that worked for everyone given the very difficult decisions we all were faced with at that time. MCC was the first venue of a number of venues we work with that went right to the task of researching and devising sensible protocols to provide for safe gathering environments once that was possible again. This was all done in the spirit of preserving relationships for future collaboration. MCC will be the first venue we go to once we are able to begin scheduling in-person programming again."

"LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP"
“The Maryland Society of Surveyors has enjoyed a long term relationship with the Maritime Conference Center as the venue for our annual Spring Technical Conference for many years. The venue provides a wonderful learning environment for our continuing education classes and the MCC staff has always been cordial, helpful, responsive, and a delight to work with. Our members appreciate the convenient location, outstanding food with a variety of selections, reasonable prices, and quality facilities, and the Society's staff and event planners enjoy working with the MCC's wonderful staff.”

"WELCOME RELIEF IN THESE TRYING TIMES"
“Although we have had to cancel two consecutive events at the Institute, the staff, sales contacts and booking process have all been pleasant and accommodating to our organization. We have not felt any pressure or resistance to either a cancellation or refund of our deposits and this is a welcome relief in these trying times. We cannot wait to have an in-person on-site meeting next year at the Institute.”

"could not have made the challenging scheduling decisions any easier"
“During 2020, as with most everyone, CWEA had anticipated events planned which were then cancelled due to the pandemic. Denise at MITAGS could not have made the challenging scheduling decisions any easier. We originally were able to reschedule our event dates, with great flexibility and without any loss of revenue. Denise accommodated a facility tour to show us how they were preparing to offer safe, socially distanced events for their clients. When it became apparent that we would have to cancel our 2020 in-person events, CWEA was graciously offered full refunds on all deposits that were paid. Every transaction and communication that we've had with Denise concerning our MITAGS events has been a great experience.”

"WE LOOK FORWARD TO ONCE AGAIN HOSTING SEMINARS AT MARITIME CONFERENCE CENTER"
"The Maritime Conference Center has been our go-to for in person seminars in the past few years. They have worked with our budget and they always help our seminars go smoothly. It is so valuable to be able to have a tech staff on hand that you don't have to hire separately; as well the other aspects of the conference center; the dining hall and hotel rooms on site make everything convenient! Plus they are so close to BWI, it makes for an easy trip to pick up our out-of-town presenters, and for the our of state students! When we were no longer having seminars in person because of the pandemic, they gave us our deposit back. When our organization goes back to having in person seminars, we look forward to once again hosting them at the Maritime Conference Center."

"OPTIONS TO DO A HYBRID CONFERENCE"
"Maryland Emergency Nurses Association has used MITAGS for our annual nursing conference for several years. We had a conference scheduled for April 2020 and a month before the conference we cancelled the conference due to the Covid restrictions. MITAGS was great in how they responded. They refunded our deposit with no questions. They are helping us to plan our Spring 2021 conference currently, providing us with the options to do a hybrid conference i.e. some will attend in person, and some will attend virtually. This will allow us to continue to provide needed education to our organization, but continue to keep everyone safe and social distancing.”

"MCC WAS EXTEMELY GRACIOUS"
“Until COVID disrupted our plans for an in-person conference this May, we had been working with MCC on the venue, meals, special meetings, lodging, etc. It was very complicated and very through and expertly handled. We were very pleased with the planning and the facility. When we had to make the decision to go virtual, MCC was extremely gracious in refunding our entire deposit. We will definitely be looking forward to re-booking there when circumstances allow.”

"PLANNING A CONFERENCE AT THE MARITIME CONFERENCE CENTER IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED."
“I've been organizing a large, single-day conference at the Maritime Conference Center for about 14 years. The Center's staff have always provided outstanding services to our conference planning committee and our attendees. They are always extremely accommodating and willing to accept large and small changes to the conference plans - sometimes at the last minute. Our attendees have always appreciated the ample free parking (with complimentary shuttle service), delicious snacks and lunch, ample space for breakout sessions and perhaps most importantly, the reasonable conference price. The Center's wide corridors are ideal for our poster presentations and exhibit tables and the new-and-improved simulcast was an added bonus during our 2019 event. Planning a conference at the Maritime Conference Center is highly recommended."

"EXCELLENT STAFF"
The International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers has been utilizing Maritime Conference Center’s meeting space and accommodations for over 5 years. Their excellent staff, all-inclusive package pricing and easy planning process makes continuing to work with MCC for our training needs an easy decision. They also have a great location, just 4 miles from BWI Airport, and provide complimentary shuttle service. Our attendees love the delicious food, both in the dining room and on the breaks. As the Administrator for the Insulation Industry International Apprentice and Training Fund, I also appreciate that the workers at this facility are all union-represented.

"I JUST WANTED TO TAKE A MINUTE OF YOUR DAY TO SAY THANK YOU!"
"RECOMMEND THE MARITIME FOR OTHERS"
"The Maritime Conference Center in Linthicum Heights, MD, located in the BWI airport hotel district, has served as the location for the annual Board of Director’s meetings for the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) from 2016 – 2019. We were scheduled for June 2020; however, the pandemic hit, Governor Hogan enacted a State of Emergency for the State of Maryland, and the Maritime Sales Department graciously released our non-profit from our 2020 June contract. With Board members flying into to BWI from all over the US, there was no way to safely hold an in-person meeting at that time in the pandemic.
I do want to recommend the Maritime for others who are looking for a Board a meeting space or to hold a smaller conference as Maritime is easily accessible from BWI airport as well as the BWI Amtrak station. Maritime has a shuttle that operates from both the air terminal and the train station. It is right off the Route 95 corridor and has plenty of free parking. For those within driving distance of the greater Washington DC area and the surrounding Baltimore area, it is doable to attend events as a commuter.
The availability of an extra-large dining hall, with a kitchen crew who is able to provide food options for discerning diners as well as for those who have specific food requirement/needs, is most helpful as meeting planners need to look out for the food specifications of their attendees. Maritime also provides a Mid-Morning and a Mid-Afternoon breakout area for food and drink to replenish those who are in meetings. Our board greatly appreciated that as well as AMTA staff as we did not have to go out and shop to bring snacks into the meeting!
The sleeping rooms are comfortable and clean and within a quick walk to get to one’s meeting in the conference center. Housekeeping staff are always available and easy to work with and ready to assist.
The grounds are clean and a wonderful place to walk and get one’s steps in and to take in a breath of fresh air to break up the day. There is a gym and pool on site, which out board members have taken advantage of.
The staff at Maritime have always been courteous and ready to assist at a moment’s notice – in every capacity from setting up the meeting and contract, to handling check in and making sure one gets to the airport on time, to providing that extra touch of special cake decoration for our organization’s anniversary celebration! The bar, adjacent to the dining area, provides a gathering spot for after dinner.
The ambience and décor @ Maritime is that of sailing the seven seas and large bodies of water – such as the great Chesapeake Bay which is so close by- as a mariner. There is a most informative and interesting Maritime Museum room in the Conference Center and available to guests to visit. While viewing the displays, one smells the salty water or is transported to stormy seas!
AMTA also held a Research Conference and the auditorium was the perfect size, coupled with the large open spaced area where attendees attended a reception. There were plenty of small breakout rooms.
The Maritime Conference Center has covered all of the bases for our association as an excellent site to hold board meetings, small meetings, and conferences. There is plenty of outdoor space to even set up events on the grounds, which I know the staff would be more than happy to work with you on. On a personal note, one can stay overnight at the Maritime if catching an early morning flight out of BWI.
The Maritime Conference Center and staff have served AMTA well as a go-to spot!"

"BEING ABLE TO HOLD OUR TRAINING SESSIONS AT THE MARITIME CONFERENCE CENTER IS INVALUABLE"
"Our officers and staff spend a lot of time and put forth a lot of effort to make our training programs a success. Being able to hold our training sessions at the Maritime Conference Center is invaluable. Their location makes traveling into the DC area from around the country easy for our members. Their lodging and variety of meeting spaces can handle our smallest to largest groups. The amenities and staff at the Maritime Center allow our members to enjoy their time outside the classroom. The learning environment has proven to be an important part of our training programs."

"THE MARITIME CONFERENCE CENTER HAS THE BEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED."
Dear Jill Porter:
I wanted to mention the consistently outstanding service we've received from all of the staff at the Maritime Conference Center. We do courses at hotels and conference centers all over the country. The Maritime Conference Center has the best service I have ever experienced.
Ernest was willing to take a call from me on his off day; he makes sure that our technical support needs are taken care of--right the first time, on time, every time.
John, Rachel and Stacey are always willing to help me out--for instance with xeroxing at the last minute. At one point this week, I was in their office, requesting three additional chairs for our classroom. By the time I had walked to the other end of the building, the chairs were already there.
I needed a stamp for an urgent mailing on Tuesday. The front desk was out of postage stamps--but Xander provided me with one of his own (and graciously wouldn't even permit me to pay for it). Yonic also helped me out with late checkout.
And the dining hall--from the folks who cook (whose names I don't know) to Judy and the other servers who are friendly, super-efficient and professional--is first rate.
The high level of service we receive at the Maritime Conference Center makes it an exceedingly attractive venue for our conference events.
With thanks to all,
Glenn

"THE MCC HAS BEEN A FANTASTIC ENVIRONMENT"
“The MCC has been a fantastic environment for AFT’s in-depth professional development meetings for many years, whether we’re planning a small meeting or a large, multi-day event. From the initial RFP to the final invoice, we always receive quick responses and great service from Maritime’s very flexible and professional staff. The facility updates the MCC has made in recent years to the administration and classroom buildings – such as increased wifi, enclosed walkway, and a new audio visual equipment – are clear indications that they are listening to their union clients. The updated sleeping rooms are fresh and comfortable with a bold look. Our meeting attendees always rave about the delicious and plentiful dining room selections and they especially love the newly renovated bar. AFT looks forward to continuing our partnership with the Maritime Institute for many more years to come.”

"YOU'RE TREATED LIKE FAMILY"
"Good Morning
As promised here are my comments!
Joyce Kregelka
As promised here are my comments!
- The willingness to even work with us through our crazy reservation/billing process.
- The fact that the Maritime was flexible and willing to work with us as we realized we weren’t going to hit our target number of attendees.
- Great continental breakfast – I love the fact that the Maritime remembers that I love their cranberry bread – The muffins were awesome.
- It is always nice to be at a conference location where you’re treated like family and everyone on staff is so accommodating and willing to help.
- That different members of the staff stopped by to check on us throughout the day – always asking if we needed anything.
- The hot Lunch Buffet was great this time, like it used to be in years past – the last couple of times we have been there we had been a little disappointed with the hot buffet selections. The salad bar, dessert and Deli bar is always awesome.
